On Friday, during the meeting with leaders of the parliaments of Denmark, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov called the issue of military and technical cooperation to be “extremely important” for our state.
“Unfortunately, the dialogue in this direction is quite slow,” he said, expressing an idea that this is predetermined by the concern of the European countries for possible aggression against them on the part of Russia. “However, we deem that aggressor can be stopped only by using force. Minsk agreements, that are not being fulfilled, have shown that diplomatic way has no serious prospects unless there is force assistance. That is why we will address both the parliaments and governments of your countries so that military and technical cooperation could move to a real and stable level,” said Oleksandr Turchynov. “This is not merely Ukraine’s issue, this is the issue of security of the entire Europe and we are badly in need of your help,” he added.
